The Oxygen Treatment Authority

Breathing Life Into Oxygen Treatment Practice

Welcome

We are the Oxygen Treatment Authority, (OTA) the self-regulating body for the practice of Oxygen Treatment. We exist to maintain the highest standards in the delivery of Oxygen Treatment and to protect the general public.

About The OTA.

The Oxygen Treatment Authority, is a member-led organisation, governed by a Board and driven by a specialist team of trainers and inspectors. The OTA has been several years in the making and was formally launched in February 2020.

Why The OTA?

The government deregulated Oxygen Treatment in 2008. Since then the model used by the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy centres for Oxygen Treatment is being widely adopted. However, this is being done without access to the training, inspection and peer review regimes to satisfy the conditions of good practice and self-regulation.

The aim of The OTA is to address this vacuum by providing a membership association open to all providers of Oxygen Treatment, not just those with a specific connection with MS.
